Portrait artwork in bold, luminous color by Jessa Lamoureux.
Dare represents no overt tension or narrative—just a held stillness that invites attention rather than demanding it.

Dare

Acrylic on canvas

Dare represents a phase of my chromatic approach, where neon color was beginning to take on a structural role across the face but still retained soft, blended transitions. The expression remains neutral and steady, giving the piece a quiet, observational quality. There’s no overt tension or narrative—just a held stillness that invites attention rather than demanding it.

The color behaves less as disruption and more as origin, allowing form to emerge from luminous gradients rather than sharp contrasts.

Dare sits at the foundation of my later work—an early articulation of mood through color, restraint, and calm presence.
