Stay represents a key shift toward the close, intimate framing that defines much of my later work. The composition centers on a restrained gesture—the finger pressed lightly against the lip—creating a sense of quiet tension and contemplation. Saturated yellows, reds, blues, and greens move across the face in structured zones, signaling an early transition from experimental color to intentional chromatic mapping.
The eyes anchor the piece with a steady, reflective gaze, while the exaggerated crop heightens immediacy and presence. Though stylistically transitional, this work marks an important stage in the development of my chromatic portrait language—where gesture, proximity, and bold color converge to form a more deliberate and emotionally focused expression.
