Tears

Acrylic on canvas

This early portrait focuses on restrained emotional intensity, using tight cropping and delicate tonal transitions to create an intimate, vulnerable moment. Tears gather and fall with subtle reflections, blending seamlessly into the soft shading of the face and amplifying the quiet sense of grief. The eyes hold a direct, weighted gaze, anchoring the composition with a depth that foreshadows my later chromatic work.

The minimalist rendering of the features—lips, nose, and cheek contours—keeps the focus on emotional presence rather than dramatic expression. As an early piece, this portrait marks a foundational step toward the close, psychologically charged style that evolves throughout my practice.
