An early exploration of chromatic abstraction, this piece reduces the portrait to soft gradients and prismatic color-fields. Facial features are stripped down to their essential contours, allowing light and hue to carry the structure. The result is a figure suspended in atmospheric color rather than anchored in realism, marking a pivotal step toward the saturated, expressive palette that would define my later work.
The partially articulated hair amplifies the sense of movement, while the tightened eyes and open mouth suggest a moment caught between release and intensity. As an early experiment in dynamic emotion and expansive space, this piece marks a rare departure toward looseness and luminosity within my portrait practice.
